The precaution and treatment for cancer become inevitable with the rising of morbidity and mortality. Inthis article, a promising new methodology for cancer treatment, sono-dynamic therapy (SDT) was introduced.In addition, we extensively reviewed the molec-ular mechanisms of SDT killing cancer and summarized theclassification of sonosensi-tizers. At the same time, research progress of SDT indicates that it is possible to becomea developing field for cancer treatment in clinical application.
