The purpose of this study is to describe the relationship between caregiver burden and perceived social supportamong caregivers of patients with cancer. The research was conducted in a university hospital in İzmir, Turkey.Eighty patient relatives who provided care service to patients with cancer who were admitted at hematology andoncology clinics participated in the study. The findings indicated that the care burden score was mild level. Themean of the perceived social support score was 58.4±21.0 supporting the conclusion that there is a weak andnegative-direct relation between caregiver and perceived social support and that as the perceived social supportincreased, conversely, care burden decreased.
